Inspired by some ninja movies my friends and I watched on VHS tapes, I took a magic marker to change his outfit from white to all black. I also used an X-Acto knife to remove the throwing stars from Scarlett's forearm as a gift to him. Decades later, I still have some scars on my fingers from doing that. It was worth it; Storm loved throwing them at people.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8426129158281149049.post-11458241602021137152018-08-09T19:21:00.047-07:002018-08-09T19:21:00.047-07:00This list is great, I have contacted most of the t...This list is great, I have contacted most of the toys on the list, and evoke memories of my youth.Lacy L. While I appreciate the original (and I had both), the later version looks, functioned, and was more fun than the original. Aside from aesthetically looking better (color of clothing, his hood having definition, etc) he also came with nun-chucks, a sword, and these awesome hand claws! Same went for Cobra Commander. While his dark blue hooded look was one of the best, his silver and light blue armor version was the best.

I put Storm Shadow V2, Cobra Commander in Battle Armon (V3), Alley Viper (w/ his combat gear, helmet with visor, shield, etc) and B.A.T.S as the top GI Joe figures ever made! They looked awesome, and if you had all four, your team was unstoppable .... except against your bratty brother/friend who could NEVER lose and somehow found a way to simply 'win' every single damn time you played no matter what!!! ----- we all had one of them! Some of us may have BEEN one of them even!! Stumbled on this blog discussion about my De...Wow. Stumbled on this blog discussion about my Desert Fox. I was a vehicle designer for Hasbro / GI Joe group 1985 -1990. Desert Fox was one of my favorites.

The grille design in the Hummer and Jeep is trade marked. So there are only five vertical slots in Desert Fox and not Seven vertical slots that appear in Jeep & Hummer. Licensing and Royalty issues would have had to be paid to Jeep/Hummer.

The Desert Fox was designed in 1987. Sometimes, I'd incorporate subtle things into the labels on my vehicles. Look at the side label just below the door opening, you'll see '87 ( year designed ) & also, Gc, which stand for my initials.

Making a vehicle with play value and style was always challenging, especially when given price points to hit. When cost reduced, it was our job to make it a cool as possible, even with unrealistically placed side rockets. There would have been a tinted wind screen, but was eliminated to make cost as it was a seperate mold. The trailer hitch was designed to accommodate a small trailer and used my Coastal Defender as the guide. As a vehicle designer, I had nothing to do with the creation of the figures, nor their name ( Marketing ) and colors. I choice the colors for all my vehicles. The only figure that I had a hand in was the Helmet design for the figure of my Persuader. Best regards. How will this series look with Dr. Strange, the Vision, and Antman? That is what keeps me anticipating these things, the wiggedy whack of Marvel comics is beginning to enter the fray and it looks like it'll be a fun campy ride. The Cure-all Pillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06586643875845512866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8426129158281149049.post-27111932942394325302015-09-24T13:47:40.425-07:002015-09-24T13:47:40.425-07:00I really like the fact that you singled out the Po...I really like the fact that you singled out the Polaris 1 Spacelab as your Classic Space base. It was the very first Classic Space set I acquired and before it started to become appreciated? Anyways, it seemed to be flying under the radar somewhat as recently as 2010, but after I bought it I saw scads of reviews making much of its ahead of the curve building techniques. Now it seems to fetch a lot more... I just wanted it since I'd tried building my penpal's when I visited him, but the half gone instructions and missing parts bested me. I've built it three or four times now... but the parts haven't been used in any MOC's yet.

I've cooled off somewhat toward Black-Tron II... I dunno, the 90's overdosed on Neon Green, and for better or worse, the Blacktron 1/Classic Space Amber yellow seriously drew cachet from their unavailability to a 90's kid; i.e. me.
The Cure-all Pillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06586643875845512866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8426129158281149049.post-2866593235078801972015-09-13T08:46:39.621-07:002015-09-13T08:46:39.621-07:00Why the heck isn't Sgt Slaughter on this list?...Why the heck isn't Sgt Slaughter on this list?
