Figure Friday: Hawkeye

Those who know me is fully aware that I'm a Marvel fan. In fact, by simple proximity, people will understand I appreciate the Marvel heroes. It started at the age of 6 when I read Marvel Heroes Secret Wars. The impact of this series was monumental. I'll get back to this. It escalated when I went to high school and found vintage US issues of Daredevil and X-Men at my local comic store. It peaked when I studied at university and subscribed to 20 titles monthly. I don't buy that many comics these days, but I still pick up the occasional issue or trade paperback, and I anticipate every Marvel movie.

Why is this boring biography of a random dude necessary? Because even though I'm a Marvel fan to the point where I literally wear it on my sleeve, and even though I own thousands of action figures, I have a surprisingly ordinary amount of Marvel action figures. One of them is the archer clad in purple, always far too confident and always the underdog. A decent toy of an excellent character.

Figure Friday: Ghost Rider

Figure Friday will be a weekly showcase of an action figure or a toy. I'll not give myself any restrictions to what will be a valid toy to write about, or how I will present it. It may be two pictures and one paragraph, or it can be an in-depth review. I can guarantee you something though: Anecdotes, history lessons and weird connections to something that may or may not be related to the toy.

I'm sure some readers are familiar with G.I. Joe - A Real American Hero, but the figure featured in the first Figure Friday may be an unknown. There are two reasons why such an obscure toy gets showcased here:
First and foremost, the figure lived up to its character profile, which has him as an invisible and forgettable person. It is actually considered among the more invisible and forgettable figures in the G.I. Joe toy line, but I'd like to show that maybe there's more to this figure than people realize. And secondly, it even further cemented it's legacy as an invisible character by being completely absent in my childhood collection.

I will admit that I have a thing or two to learn about photography, and when I suddenly felt for a snack late last night, my camera did not want to cooperate. I normally don't drink juice. But it's both delicious and easy to make, it's weird that I don't make more juice. A stroke of luck left me with a bag of oranges, that I not only ended up using for juice, but also for dinner. Today is about the juice though...
